Adult Formation

At different times of the year, we offer Adult Bible Study, a Foundations introduction course, single-day seminars, book studies, and newcomers’ classes.

Many of our formation offerings emerge from questions and interests within the community. If there’s something you want to learn more about, just ask!

Episcopal 101
Wednesdays, 6:30pm-8:15pm  |  April 22; May 6, 13, 27; June 3, 10

Are you new or new to the Episcopal Church? Or maybe you've been here a while but still have questions or want to learn more? Join us for six sessions of Episcopal 101! It doesn't matter how much or little you know about the Church, all are welcome to join! In our time together, we'll explore the faith, history, structure, and practices of the Episcopal Church. The foundation for our time together will be based on the book Walk in Love: Episcopal Beliefs and Practices by Scott Gunn and Melody Wilson Shobe. We have 10 books available for purchase at $15 a piece in the Formation Room. Sign ups can be found in the eNews or Gathering Space.

Sabbath as Resistance
Tuesdays, 6:30pm-8:15pm  |  April 14, 21; May 5, 12, 19, 26

Join us for a six-week book study of Walter Brueggemann's Sabbath as Resistance, a compelling exploration of how the practice of Sabbath is not merely a religious ritual but a radical act of resistance against the restless, anxiety-driven culture of productivity and consumption that dominates modern life. Together we will journey through Brueggemann's rich biblical scholarship as he unpacks how the ancient command to rest challenges the relentless "more, more, more" mentality of our age and invites us into a life of trust, abundance, and neighborly care. We have 10 books available for purchase at $15 a piece in the Formation Room. Sign ups can be found in the eNews or Gathering Space.

Show & Tell

Remember the excitement of show-and-tell days at school? Scanning your room for treasures that could be shared and being surprised by what your friends found to share. What if we brought show-and-tell back? That’s exactly what we’re hoping to do this year!

Have you read an article or listened to a podcast lately that you’d like to discuss with others? Do you have a hobby, discipline, or interest you’d be willing to share about? Consider bringing it to show-and-tell! On Sundays following the 10am service stick around for an extra hour to learn, discuss, and build community.

Ascension Day Taco Party and Eucharist
Thursday, May 14 at 6:30pm

Because feast days deserve an actual feast, we invite you to join us on the Feast of the Ascension for a taco dinner followed by Eucharist. Ascension Day follows 40 days after Easter as we recall the conclusion of Jesus’ earthly ministry. The story of the ascension is an odd one, and we will contemplate this mystery together. A sign up will be shared as we approach the feast day.
